A Fence Post

We are nearing my very favorite time of year...fall.

As I sit here and watch the Texans pre season game, I look forward to a game every Sunday, Bean Chili every Sunday, coffee on the cool, crisp fall mornings and a fire in the fire pit in the evenings (we have never been big fire in the fire pit people, but I have always wanted to be.  Hopefully, this will be the year).  And what about the smell of the heater being turned on for the first cold front of the season?

Ooooo weee - I feel happy even just thinking about it.

For now, though, the temperature is in the 90's and we are guzzling ice cold, bottled water.

Booooo.  Haha, no...actually, I have enjoyed this summer a lot more than usual.

We worked on our fence today.

I took pics, but they didnt come out very good.  This is the only one that I could salvage.

Mike started the project a couple of weeks ago - he used the auger to dig the holes and cemented the posts.

Then his parents - my brother, Leo, and sister-in-law, Pam - Ronnie and I all pulled together and put the panels up.

I gotta say I had a blast doing that with them and it only took us 3 half days to do it.

All we need now is the gate.  Woop!

I am grateful to have had such a great day.

Mom spent the night again last night and we got up and made a good ol' breakfast of eggs bacon and toasted new potatoes left over from last nights pot roast dinner.

It has actually been a great weekend, not just a great day.

Hoping everyone has a great one, too.

Time

I came to a realization this past Thursday.

I miss my time.

Thursday was slow at work and I actually got home at about 6:15 or 6:20 as opposed to 7 pm.

It was a wonderful night.  I actually was able to enjoy dinner with our family.  I wasn't exhausted and my legs didn't hurt.  I guess that is the reason I slept so well that night, also.  I woke up so easy the next morning.  It was such a treat...especially my legs not hurting!!

Anyway.  WE had a really good weekend.

Mom spend the night last night.  I love that she does that even though we live in the same town.

The twins turned 5!!  Oh my goodness.  I cant handle it, haha.  They had a Hawaiian Luau Party.  Or was it a Tiki Party?  It was somewhere along those lines.

New Job Update

Note:  This post was written a few days ago, Sunday, I think. I've made it through my 3rd week of work and I still havent gotten fired =D

Wow!  Where did this day go??

Now that I am working all my free time seems to slip through my fingers.

Speaking of my new job...it's great.  Ok, it's hard...but I like the tasks I do.

I work reception for a chiropractor.  Sounds easy, right?

When I tell people what I do it sounds really easy.

What do I do?

  • I check in patients
  • I enter the services they recieved into the computer
  • I accept their payment for services
  • If a patient hasn't arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time, I give them a reminder call.
  • I make, cancel and reschedule appointments
  • I pull files for the next day
  • I call each patient scheduled for the next day to confirm their appointment
  • I prepare new patient files
  • I enter new patient information
  • I answer the phone
  • I close out the books for the day
  • I track daily statistics

It really doesn't sound like a lot, but it is all at once.  Actually, the first week was hell.  I'm actually surprised they kept me around.  Mistakes galore.

But this past week was much better as far as my performance.  As far as my endurance...not so great.  Being a foot loose, fancy free house mouse has made me very soft, haha.

Oh my gosh.  My legs hurt so bad by the end of the day and I am so exhausted that I barely eat supper and head of to bed, asap.

The good news...I only work half a day Wednesday and half a day Friday.

Not only that, but the people are really nice and patient.  The patients are really nice and patient.

Me...well...Im tired.  Very tired.  I miss my time with my husband and I can tell my husband misses having me around.  That is very hard on me.  I never thought my going back to work would affect him so much, but, it does.  I also miss not being able to talk to him or my mom anytime I want.  It is way too busy to even think about taking time to talk on the phone...plus it's against the rules.

So, now that I am working we do very little.  But, we did go to Lake Jackson this past Friday.  I was going to get some bi-focal contacts.  I called to see how much it would be and they told me it would be near $200.  Yikes, but ok.

Well, when I got there I came to understand the $200 was only for the exam.  It would be another $300 for the contacts!!  I can think of at least a hundred other things on which I would rather spend $500 bucks.

The first thing that came to mind was a new phone, since I ruined mine the weekend of Craig's 50th birthday party.

But, since I am not eligible for an upgrade yet, it was actually going to be $500-$600 for a phone.  Nope, not happening.

So, I went to buy a camera.  I already have two, but I wanted one that I could carry in my pocket.  So I got a Sony something-or-other.  I took only a few pics.

One of our Jake with a flash:

Saturday morning at Casa Causpanic:

And our boat...which we might be selling:

All pretty basic, but pretty decent pics.  The true test will be the video.

So, that is it for now.  It is late and tomorrow is a work day.

Hope tomorrow is a good day for everyone!!

Karaoke at the Empty Glass

Hey, Hey, Hey!!

Hello, blog world!

I feel like I havent posted a blog in forever.  It really has only been 8 days.

Lots has happened in those 8 days.  Yep.  I have a little news to share.  I'll wait till the end of the post to do that.

No worries...it is great news!!  But I would rather share our fun weekend, first.

This weekend we went to visit Ronnie II at his new home in Sandia, TX.

He has been there about three weeks and we were so excited to go visit him there.  Honestly...I never get excited about getting on the road, but I did want to see him and his new place, so in the Jeep I hopped.

I dont think I posted it, but we bought a brand, spanking new Jeep Latitude on April 11th.  This will give you a good indication of how much we have been on the road:

2,794 miles!  And that is in only two and a half months and that was before this last trip even started.  I was broken hearted when we hit the 100 mile mark, now, I'm over it.

Anyway, we arrived at Ronnie's about 6 pm.  I should have taken a pic of his house as we drove up, but I was steaming...one of those road trip arguments that we have every time we travel.  We both try to be on our best behavior, but eventually he does something in his driving that scares the bejeebers out of me, whether it is real or imagined by me, and we have a fight.  Boooo.

Anyway, we got the grand tour once we arrived.  He has an awesome home that is so perfect for him.  He is a laidback, easy-going, down to earth sweetheart.  His new home is out in the country on three acres that matches who he is.

He has a garden that the previous owners planted.  He gave us tomatoes, bell pepper, a watermelon.  He has lettuce, squash and okra growing, too.  There is an awesome little driveway where all his friends with big trucks can park and a nice little patio on which to bar-b-que.

We got settled in and visited with him and his buddy, Rick, a little while before we were off on an adventure.

They had plans to head over to a friend's house to do a little "pickin' and grinnin'".  And so the fun began!

This is Mike and Ann's fun space.

Mike told us it just kind of came together over a 10 year period.  And, it got it's name, The Empty Glass, from one of their favorite songs:

We fell in love with the place immediately!  There was KARAOKE!!  Oh, how I love Karaoke!!  Wow...a bar, a dance floor, AND a killer karaoke set up.

We later discovered there was no shortage of friends ready and willing to sing, too!

Mike was the only one home when we arrived and he just made us feel so comfortable and welcome.  We had no problem making ourselves at home:

Check out this cool table (I should have gone to the other side to take the picture, but I had myself perched on a stool and did not want to move)

I love it!

Little by little their friends arrived.

The ladies set up the appetizers and the guys bar-b-qued some wings and sausage.  Before we knew it, the night was in full swing.

I love seeing Ronnie with his children.

Of course this is just one of his childeren.  The Spring Branch bunch wasn't able to make it, but maybe next time.

Ronnie II really likes to hear his dad sing.

And they even sing together here:

These folks are really down to earth folks.  The ladies took great care of me.  They fed me, they fanned me, they let me sing Harper Valley PTA with them....

Everyone sang:

The ladies love Ronnie II:

They explained to us that they used to call him Ron Dawg, but now that he has a grandson, he is Paw-Dawg.  haha.

Ronnie and I (especially me) don't fit into a lot of social groups.  Not because of the groups, we are just not used to socializing much.  But, I gotta say...I felt very comfortable in this group.  And, I didn't even have a single drink!!  Seriously.  True story.

There was no pickin' but there was plenty of grinnin'

Ultimately, that is all that counts!

Well, I promised you some news.

You may remember I wrote in a few posts back that I interviewed for a job.

After the interview, I did two "working interviews".  I worked about 4 hours each time and just took in all the job would entail.  Plus, they took in my performance.

Well, low and behold...I got a job!!

It is with a chiropractor's office.

I probably only told Ronnie and my mom, but when I went to the Chiropractor in Dickinson, I dreamed of getting a job there.  Their office had such a great feel about it.  Plus, they had access to chiropractic care, they closed between 12 and 2 every day and they were off on Wednesdays!!  I thought that was right up my alley.

Well, the Lord did me one better.  He got me a job in BC, where we could still be close to mom.  I will be processed as a new patient tomorrow, which means I will be getting an adjustment soon, the office closes between 12 and 2 three days a week  AND it closes at noon the other 2 days a week.  Awesome!!

I hope and pray I can do the job well!!  I have not worked in 4 years!!  Where does the time go?? It is a fast paced environment and I worry my 45 year old mind may not be able to keep up.  But, I am gonna try my dangdest.  The people are great and the job will be challenging.  I like!

Tomorrow better come quick, because I am getting cold feet.  Yikes! :D

So that is what we have been up to.

What about you?  Anybody have a bunch of friends they couldn't live without or maybe taking the plunge into a new job?

Whatever it is you are doing we are wishing you a happy and blessed week!!

Thanks for stopping in!!

Curb Appeal

"Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity." ~Lindley Karstens, noproblemgarden.com

source

Last Saturday we went to our local nursery and bought some pretty plants to try and spruce up our curb appeal.

Ronnie really took a lot of care with this project.  Steady and sure he did a little each day and got 'er done.

The first day he dug all the dirt out so he could put in a weed barrier.

Then he put the dirt back in.  I supervised watched a lot.

The next day mom helped us plant.

I know it looks like they did all the work...

...but, I promise, I helped.

They look very sweet and my husband was so sweet to come up with this idea.  He is taking very good care of them.

It's a tiny change, but we now smile every time we drive up to our little studio.

Saturday Snapshots

It's has been a beautiful, windy day here in south Texas, but still HOT!

So, I am inside :)

I am wrapping my mind around tidying up the house for a get-together we are having this weekend.

It isn't that I don't want to do it.   I am just kind of pre-occupied.

I went for a job interview this week!  Yay!!  Gotta wait and see, now.  Don't get me wrong.  I won't be terribly heartbroken if I don't get it, but it seems like a good work environment with good, friendly, people doing good things for others.  I would love to be a part of that.  Plus, the process seems very similar to my experience.  Seems like a good fit, you know?

I cannot beleive I am saying this after being foot loose and fancy free for almost 4 years, but I am really looking forward to a schedule and a challenge and...yeah...a paycheck too. ha!

So, I have not done a Saturday Snapshots post in a while.  It's Wednesday, but what the heck.

We have been having smoothies every morning for breakfast, so we decided to have our favorite - bacon and eggs - on Saturday morning.

Jake and Maggie love bacon!  They don't have to beg long.  How can I resist this face??

Little did I know Ronnie has been thinking a lot about sprucing up the curb appeal of our little studio.  It still looks very much like a commercial building on the outside.  The front is brick and the rest is siding.  We plan on replacing the siding...someday.

For now, though, Ronnie wanted to start with a little landscaping...here...

This is the front "yard" even though there is no grass.  Anybody out there have a concrete front yard, aka, a parking lot??  The fence there is the fence to the dog run and there is only about eight inches of space between the concrete and the fence.

We had no idea what we wanted to do or what would even grow in there, so we headed out to our favorite nursery here in town, Second Nature.

We spoke with a very knowledgeable young lady and we got these, Vincas (I think):

As we were coming back home we noticed a tiny kitten trying to cross the busy highway.  We pulled over and tried to catch it, but it was too wild and too fast.

This sweet young man on a motorcycle even stopped to help us.  He had just returned from Afghanistan a few weeks before.  Ronnie thanked him for his service and he said, "No problem, it was an honor sir."  I thought, "Awww" but then I thought about the recent incident with the American Idol contestant.  I try not to be cynical, though, and decided to take him at his word.  The kitty got away and the Motor-cycle GI went on his way.  We had supper with mom and then went to visit with Pam and Leo, Mel and the twins while they ate.

Then it was time!!

It was karaoke time.

I don't think Maggie liked it, though.

Oh, the despair. :)

But Jake...he got right in there and sang with us. (Please excuse the poor lighting.)

He sings so pretty!!  He's a "Supa Star"!!

What lucky folks we are.

Going Through The Big D or All Around It

It is 9:04 p.m., Monday evening.  by the time I finish this post it will be nearing 11 I'm sure.

It feels good to just sit here in our bed, college softball as background noise, just savoring being home.

Yep, we took another trip this past weekend.

Every time I leave on these trips I envision all the great pictures I am going to take so we can better remember the experience and every time I come back disappointed because I dont take as many pictures as I would have liked, or I am too shy to get in a good spot to get a good pic.

I am 45 years old.  Shouldnt I be over being shy?  Well, not me.

Anywaaaay...we went all the way to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Weatherford, to be exact.

Please excuse all the bug guts on the windshield.

Generally, I do not get excited about trips anymore.

I get this stitch in my right side, that makes it very uncomfortable to be in the car.  But, I was actually kind of stoked about this trip.

We were going to visit Ronnie's aunt, going to his cousin's son's graduation in Gunter, Texas and then heading over to Fort Worth, Texas to see my friend and her family.

We set out on the old Texas back roads instead of flying down the interstate, so my tendency to get a little anxiety was kept at bay.  It only took us about 5 - 5-1/2 hours even with 3 stops.

When we arrived at Erna Lea's (Ronnie's aunt) she had good ol' chicken fried steak, mashed 'taters and corn waiting for us.  It was so tasty and really hit the spot.  We just sat around and caught up, watched a little college softball, and had a bowl of Blue Bell Blueberry Cobbler ice cream.  OMG.

Graduation wouldn't be until 8 p.m. Friday night, so Ronnie and I killed a little time at the Farmer's Market while Erna Lea got her hair done.

Maybe I can get Ol' Dawg to write a post about what he remembers the Farmers Market to be, back when farmers really sold their crops and sat around shooting the breeze.

It is a little more commercialized now a days.

It had lots of plants

Plenty of unique items to buy...

...And a sweet kid named Charlotte that cut open a cantaloupe for us to test for ripeness.

We drove around a little.  Check out this mural!

The Parker County Courthouse has lots of character.

After goofing around for a while, we went back to Erna Lea's and just relaxed before the 2 hour drive to Gunter, where the graduation would be.

The next generartion of Gunter Tigers were ready to head out into the world.

It was a really nice ceremony.  I didn't have a child there but I still teared up as they played the picture video of the graduates with them in the background telling their parents thank you and how much they loved them.

I really almost lost it when each graduate took a rose to their mother and/or grandmother.  The moms would hug their babies for dear life.  Imagining the emotions they must have been feeling brought tears to my eyes.

That is not where the weekend ends, but it is where the pictures end.

Erna Lea was so hospitable.  She fed us waffles, and roast, cobbler and fruit...man!

It was hard to leave, but it was time to head to Ft. Worth to visit the Williamson family.

Monica and I became friends when we worked together in Corpus Christi.  There is just something about that kid that makes me travel all over the world to see her.  Ok, ok, just all over Texas.

I think that "something" might be her two adorable children.

We did not get to spend much time with them, but I had the best time playing ball with the little guy and watching his sister dress up and dance.  He also schooled Ronnie on the Transformer movies, grabbing his chin and redirecting it to the movie when his attention turned to our conversation.  He was cracking me up.

Get this...they gave us their bed to sleep in so Ronnie wouldn't have to climb the stairs to the guest room.

Poor kids.  They had had company drop in all week and then they gave up their bed for us.  We just cant say thank you enough.  I so wish they could move here to south Texas.

And that concludes our trip.

We made it home Sunday evening and were welcomed by Mom and Jake and Maggie.  Next time we take a trip I am going to video tape Jake and Maggie when we get home.  They go beserk!!!  I love it!

I am so grateful that we got to see family and friends, but I'm grateful to be home now, too.

We'll talk again soon!

Quick Chicken Fettuccine

Wow!  I am really loving how this day has started!

Being the night owl that I am I rarely see 7 a.m.  If I do, it is usually because I have something I have to do.

But today is different.

I am up because I want to be up.   Yee haw!!

It feels great to sit here in the quiet solitude one can only find in the awakening of a new day.

I have my favorite quiet time music on, we have had our smoothie and now I am savoring my one cup of coffee.

Lovely day.

I am glad to report, that I have not had a headache since Sunday.

Do you ever get migraines?

I would not wish one of those on my worst enemy, if I had a worst enemy.

Anyway, I had two last week and the only commonality I could find between the two incidents is PEANUTS!

Oh no!  I love home roasted peanuts!

But, if I must give them up, I will.

The only other culprit I can think of is hormones.

Ok, enough of that!

I made this delicious dinner the other day.

I mean it was really delicious.

My nephews wife has made something like this for us before, but I never knew exactly what she used.  I'm still not sure this is what she uses, but it is close enough to the flavor of hers for me.

I was kind of afraid to eat it, thinking my migraines might be food related and all, but I gave it a go and all was well.

So, I put three of these Tyson pre cooked chicken breasts in the oven for about 18 minutes:

Now let me just say, normally, I try to avoid pre-cooked products, but this one has no preservatives and it gives this great smoky flavor to the dish, kinda like a Carino's dish.  I also like that they are all just about a good portion size.  No humongous sized ones.  Well, not in this bag, anyway.  It was my first time using them.

As that was warming up, I sauteed some mushrooms.  I dont know if you would really call it sauteing, because I did not use any oil or butter.  I guess you could say, I grilled them.

I love the flavor they get when they get a little toasted.

These Buitoni raw noodles only take 3-4 minutes to cook and they are delicious.  So, I threw them in the boiling water when the chicken timer rang.  That gave me time to chop the chicken up into bite size pieces.

Then I drained my noodles, added the chicken, mushrooms and this alfredo sauce:

Oh my gosh!  It was so tasty and it fed me, Ronnie and my mom.  Next time I will put green peas in it.

I would say, it cost about $3 per serving.  I wont give you the calorie count, haha.  Naw, it really wasn't that high.  I just don't remember what it was.

So, there it is.

Oh, one last thing. . . I am not receiving any type of compensation from these fine brands for this post.

I am sure most of you already have a recipe like this in your rotation, but I just thought this was so quick, easy and delicious and I wanted to share.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Good Afternoon, Casa Causpanic, Can You Please Hold...?

Ugh! A migraine type headache has had me on hold a couple of days.

But, today I went and got the healing touch of my mom, and I got a massage.

I am feeling much better tonight but I think I will be staying off the computer for the rest of the week.

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

See ya again next week!

Why is Today's Sunday Song Special?

...because a special thing happened today.

Our godson received his first Holy Communion today!!!

It was an incredible day.

As you may know, all the children in this blog have blog names to protect their identity, so after careful consideration we have decided that our godson's blog name is. . . drum roll please. . . "Mr. Dynamite!"

Why?  Because he really is a stick of Dynamite!  He is full of energy and life.  He will burst into song and dance at the drop of a hat and when he does, it is like an explosion of happiness!  True story.

Ok, so Mr. Dynomite and his family attend a traditional Catholic church in Dickinson, just a few blocks  from where we used to live, actually.

source

So, we headed out early this morning.

When we arrived we saw Mr. Dynamite was taking pictures with his family and he was absolutely adorable in his white linen suit and bow tie.

We interrupt this program for a peri-menopausal rant....

I'm having issues getting the picture of us from the phone to my email and I am pinned down by a black lab.  He has his head on my leg and I don't have the heart to disturb his nap, so I can't go upload the picture from Mr. Dynamite's baptism so you can see how much he has grown.

Not only that, but there is something under my contact and I think I am having a freaking hot flash.  Why is it so hot in here?  ugh, it feels like my feet are going to combust!

So why dont I just upload my Sunday Songs in honor of Mr. Dynamites first Holy Communion and tell you more about our day and show you pics tomorrow.

I hope you understand . . .  IT'S SO HOT ALL OF A SUDDEN!!

I have shared the following song before.  But, it is worth sharing again.  It really does express the awe I am in about this sacred mystery.

And, a special lullaby for our Mr. Dynomite:

This and That Post

Hello!!

It's Friday Night!

What did you do this fine Friday??

Our Fridays have changed drastically.

They used to consist of shopping , dinner at Outback or Imperial Cafe (when we lived in Corpus) and waaaay back when . . . it even included a bar , a band , and a little two-stepping!

Now-a-days our Fridays still include food - we might invite mom over for supper or go out to eat with her and my niece, Christi.  But the end is a little different . . . it includes a sofa, a net book, a kindle, a yellow lab, a black lab, and a tv.  Now that the "Blue Bloods" season is over I'm not sure what we will be watching.

But really.  Who could complain about a Friday night with Tom Selleck?  Not this girl, for sure.

source

I am just glad to have him back in my life on TV.  Oh Tom, I still love you after all these years.  If you havent seen this show yet, check it out.  It is really good.

Aaaaaaanyway...

This is basically a photo dump - random photos that I thought I would write individual posts about, but never did.

Put your seatbelt on!

When I told you about Spring Happenings I showed you this picture of the guest room aka the little room because it is about 5 ft x 12 ft.  Long and narrow.

We have been trying to clear it out and make it the guest room it was intended to be so Mom can come spend the night with us on occasion.

Yeah, she only lives about 7 blocks from us, but sometimes I just wanna wake up with her here and eat breakfast with her (it's also part of my evil scheme to try to get her to want to move in with us).

Way at the back of this mess under the window is a . . . uh . . . hmmm . . . dang, I don't know what to call it.  The word won't come to mind.  It's this:

Kind of like a cedar chest, but it's a home-made box made out of pine, haha.  My brother and mom made it for me.  It was really pretty when they gave it to me.

So, I decided it was time for a make over.

I got a painters drop cloth and got to work.

Actually, it couldn't have been that easy because that is how easy I expected it to be.

Nope.  It was a little more involved than my impatient self wanted it to be.

I tore off the old material and then had to pull out all the staples.

Plus, we decided if we use it in the guest room, it would serve double duty as storage and a place to sit when getting dressed.

So, it had to be reinforced all the way around because, really, it was just a pine box with a lid.

I have finished it, but I haven't taken an after picture yet.  "Boooo".  Or, as we Aggies say, "Tssssss" because it is rude to booo.

Texas had a little rain the past couple of months.

Yes, this is our charming view out of the front window.  And yes, you do sense a bit of sarcasm. :)

On this particular rainy day, it flooded on our street in front of our little studio.

That did not give drivers any incentive to drive any slower.  Every time a car passed by the water rippled and pert near pushed water into our little abode.

Ronnie sat at that window for hours hollering things like, "Slow down, Crazy!"  "Hey, you're gonna push water into our house!" "This city's drainage system sucks !".  Oh my.  He was really working himself into a fit.

One day we woke up and saw these in our neighbors yard:

Haha, hehe, hoho.

Ok, back to serious business.

Did you see the Super Moon, or whatever it was called?

Yep, this is what we saw that night.

It was a little cloudy here in Texas that night.  I actually did get a picture of the moon, but I liked this one best.  Honestly, that's how little the moon impressed me, but this picture I took . . . .

We are nearing the end folks.

Oh, don't cry.

Oh . . . those are tears of joy?  I see.

Nothing like a little baseball to end a post.

This is our grandson, BW (his parents did give him a real name, that is just what we call him on this blog for security purposes, because when you are as handsome a devil as he is, you need security):

He is a handsome devil.  He is my grand-son by love, so obviously I had nothing to do with his handsomness.  I did get up at like 7 a.m. to keep him half a day once when he was little, though.

He is eleven, now.  He actually had a birthday three days after this picture was taken.

Last year he had a party at a huge, fun ranch.  This year, he said he had everything he needed and just had his two besties over for a swim and some cake.

That beauty with them is BW's sister, our grand-daughter.  She is my grand-daughter by love, so I obviously had nothing to do with her beauty.  Although, I did feed her her bottle once when she was a baby.

Ok, so back to the ball game.  Just a couple more pics . . . no blah blah blah.

A father and his daughter.  Oops, I forgot, no blah blah.  Sorry

Ahh, there he is . . .  the love of my life.  I don't know why he has that mean look on his face.  He actually, usually, has a very sweet smile.

I told him Dr. Phil probably never looked at Robin that way.

And for the grand finale . . . tonight's dinner on our fine paper plates.  Aren't they gorgeous???

Have a wonderful weekend and stop in and tell us what you are up to!!!

Pre-K Graduation Slide Show

One of my favorite things to do is make picture videos.

Meaningful music just seems to add so much to pictures.

Anyway, last year my sister in law asked me to help her make a picture video of her pre k class.

We spent hours looking for the right songs, we made videos of the children telling what they would like to be when they grow up and we mixed those videos up within the ton of pictures my sister in law took throughout the year.

It was such a good video we did it again this year.

The one new song we can suggest for a pre-k graduation picture video is The Friendship Song by Carbon Leaf, from the Curious George movie.  Very cute song.

Last years serious song was Let Them Be Little by Billy Dean and this years serious song was, My Wish, by Lonestar.  I had used that song for a 15th birthday (Quincianera) video.  Beautiful.

I digress....

Now, this years video was extra important to me because the twins, my great-neice and great-nephew were in the pre-k graduating class!!

Whaaaat????  Say it isn't so!!!

They just amaze me.

The things they say and do crack me up.

  I just  completely adore them!

And, my heart swells when they walk in, see me and say with delight, "Aunt Jenn!".  Usually, Baby Girl does that.  Baby Boy just smiles and waits for his hug, pretending he doesnt want one.

What really gets me is when Baby Girl sees my mom.  She makes my mom feel so special because when she sees her she runs up to her and gives her a big ol' hug.

Oops...I digress...again.

As I organize and put all the pictures together with the videos, I end up falling in love with ALL the children.  They are all so sweet and their personalities are just so pure.  God bless them!!

So here it is...the Pre-K class of 2012 video.  Enjoy.

Sunday Song for Mom...Happy Mother's Day

Wow!  This blog is starting to look like a Sunday Song Blog.

I will get to writing posts again, soon.

But, for now...

...it's Mothers Day!!

This song puts it all into words for me.

My mom is such a wonderful woman and is such a great mom.

She is my Angel and I thank God for her on this and every day.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom.  I love you

And Happy Mother's Day to Memaw, Ronnie's Mama.  Even though she is no longer with us in this life, I know she is still watching over him.

May all the mothers have a wonderous, blessed day!!

Sunday Song

Hello!

It has been a beautiful day here in Texas!  I hope it has been beautiful for everyone everywhere!

We spent some much needed time with Mom and Pam and Leo (my brother and sister in law) and their family.

Which is why I picked this song for today's Sunday Song.  It makes me think of my brother Leo.

Today, I give many thanks and much gratitude to the Lord for His Grace.

Thank You, Lord!

God Bless!  Have a wonderful week :)

Happy Half A Century Day!

This is us with our son-in-law.

He is awesome.

He is also the newest member of the Half a Century Club.

Yep, he turned the big 50 today.

He had a party Saturday.

It was a boozy  doozy.

Here he is dancing with his "walker".

With his wife.

And with his oldest son.

His other children were hanging out with their friends there at the house.  I got a picture of him with our grand-daughter, but she was kind of looking off, so I'm not going to post it. Although she is stunningly gorgeous for a 13 year old, she might get embarrassed.

You know it is very important to have excellent pics when you are 13, almost 14!!

But, here is Ronnie II and our friend Shauna with the Ol' Dawg.

And...of course a 50th birthday party would not be complete without a little birthday cake up the guest of honors nose.

He actually wasn't the only one with a birthday!

Our grandson, BW, turned 11 on Monday!!  11!!  Oh my.

We had a blast this weekend until the Sunday morning headache

We were able to make it to one of BW's baseball games also.  It is so amazing to see how much he has changed and how great he is at catching pop-flies!

BW is our pop-fly catching machine!!

I may or may not have had my fill of alcohol until at least Ol' Dawg's 70th birthday, (at least a year and a half away).

It took me this long to recover from maybe having or not having my fill of alcohol at Ronnie II's 40th birthday party.

These kids gotta quit having birthdays.

And if that picture wasnt proof enough here is a video clip of Ronnie dancing with his son and grandson.

I absolutely love this video!  My "crazy-lady-laugh" in the background is kind of scary, though.  I could not figure out if I wanted to shoot landscape or portrait.

I am still waiting for that blackmail picture from this past Saturday's party to arrive in my email.  So far, I am safe (enter nail biting here).

Oh well....

Have a good one!!
