New Job Update

Note:  This post was written a few days ago, Sunday, I think. I've made it through my 3rd week of work and I still havent gotten fired =D

Wow!  Where did this day go??

Now that I am working all my free time seems to slip through my fingers.

Speaking of my new job...it's great.  Ok, it's hard...but I like the tasks I do.

I work reception for a chiropractor.  Sounds easy, right?

When I tell people what I do it sounds really easy.

What do I do?

  • I check in patients
  • I enter the services they recieved into the computer
  • I accept their payment for services
  • If a patient hasn't arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time, I give them a reminder call.
  • I make, cancel and reschedule appointments
  • I pull files for the next day
  • I call each patient scheduled for the next day to confirm their appointment
  • I prepare new patient files
  • I enter new patient information
  • I answer the phone
  • I close out the books for the day
  • I track daily statistics

It really doesn't sound like a lot, but it is all at once.  Actually, the first week was hell.  I'm actually surprised they kept me around.  Mistakes galore.

But this past week was much better as far as my performance.  As far as my endurance...not so great.  Being a foot loose, fancy free house mouse has made me very soft, haha.

Oh my gosh.  My legs hurt so bad by the end of the day and I am so exhausted that I barely eat supper and head of to bed, asap.

The good news...I only work half a day Wednesday and half a day Friday.

Not only that, but the people are really nice and patient.  The patients are really nice and patient.

Me...well...Im tired.  Very tired.  I miss my time with my husband and I can tell my husband misses having me around.  That is very hard on me.  I never thought my going back to work would affect him so much, but, it does.  I also miss not being able to talk to him or my mom anytime I want.  It is way too busy to even think about taking time to talk on the phone...plus it's against the rules.

So, now that I am working we do very little.  But, we did go to Lake Jackson this past Friday.  I was going to get some bi-focal contacts.  I called to see how much it would be and they told me it would be near $200.  Yikes, but ok.

Well, when I got there I came to understand the $200 was only for the exam.  It would be another $300 for the contacts!!  I can think of at least a hundred other things on which I would rather spend $500 bucks.

The first thing that came to mind was a new phone, since I ruined mine the weekend of Craig's 50th birthday party.

But, since I am not eligible for an upgrade yet, it was actually going to be $500-$600 for a phone.  Nope, not happening.

So, I went to buy a camera.  I already have two, but I wanted one that I could carry in my pocket.  So I got a Sony something-or-other.  I took only a few pics.

And our boat...which we might be selling:

All pretty basic, but pretty decent pics.  The true test will be the video.

So, that is it for now.  It is late and tomorrow is a work day.

Hope tomorrow is a good day for everyone!!
